Had a dream last night involving dead relatives that mix relations to one another. I can’t quite explain the confusing of waking up, but I think there’s potential for a story. The realism was tremendous.

Deer Dream

Had a dream I was riding a deer — I suppose it was more like a unicorn (definitely didn’t seem like a reindeer) in the fact that it could jump way up into the sky. I just remember the sensation of controlling the really high jumps. The setting was full of trees — much like the forests in the early scenes of Gladiator.

Strange indeed. Not too many specifics, but feel free to run with it.

Underground Entrance

Descending a long and winding, creaky staircase with a gremlin. It’s not a cute one like Gizmo; it’s one of the skunk stripe ones. However, you have real affection for this little guy. He keeps biting you, but it’s only because he is drying up. He needs to make it to water and you need to get inside the hotel.

introduces himself by saying, “Allow me to be Franc.”
different interpretations as to the meaning of his opening statement lead to interesting life paths

Guy eats a microwaved meal at work every day. Each day he starts vibrating a little bit more until he spontaneously combusts. The reactions of co-workers will be the most hilarious part, I suppose.

Testaroni

The world devolves into a series of monster truck ads being played over and over. Think Idiocracy if you’ve seen it. Well, a young and eager inventor creates a cheap new food product called Testaroni. In this dumbville of the future — Testaronia if you will — the physically weak — those who cannot afford nano-arms and nano-legs are, needless to say, in trouble. So, they hit-up their local Walmart for some 59 cent cans of Testaroni. Of course this doesn’t go well. Everybody is riding around on their three wheelers smashing into things. They are driving through flower beds and flipping off young children.

There you go. Now run with it…

Thin Crust

I’d like to write this alternating segments with someone perhaps.

young man experiences tragic death of father — there is a hole in his identity.
he patches over the hole with athletics, but is injured.
he fills this void by entering the military shortly after september 11th.
a friend dies in his arms; he escapes by chance
he returns home after two tours of duty and joins a church; meets the love of his life; has a child
his child dies of cancer — loses the identity of father: a role thickly plastered over his other losses (gaping holes).
escapes into alcohol — on the verge of suicide he has a defining moment — casts aside all the layers of loss and broken identity.
becomes a peaceful shell

faceless pilot loses control of plane
spinning fast
violent crash into open sea
floating through the plane walls and up to the surface
wading quickly to dry land
you and young child unharmed
